If you continue to struggle with body image concerns, ask for help
Counseling and therapy can help. A therapist familiar with cancer survivorship or body image concerns can help you. Visit https://www.psychologytoday.com/us to find the right therapist for you.
Oncology social worker, nurse navigators, and others may assist you. At your next oncology appointment ask about having a survivorship visit with a provider. At this visit, which is typically scheduled a few months after active treatment ends, the survivorship provider can offer referrals and connect you to support services in your community to address the effects of treatment on your mental and physical health.
Medical support may be available. At your next appointment talk with your oncologist about obtaining a referral to a specialist who can assist with hormone changes, menopause management, lack of libido, pain during intercourse, and other physical and mental issues you are experiencing.
